Greg Jamie - Hot Trash: Cinema!

greg jamie grew up being a film nerd. he used to ask his parents to take him out to see r-rated movies and so sometimes he’d end up watching leaving las vegas or pulp fiction before he was a teenager.  he graduated with a bfa in film in 2005 at the film conservatory at suny purchase where he made short movies on 16mm and super 8 and fell hard for true weird cinema. stuff like jonas mekas, stan brakhage, bela tarr, apichatpong weerasethikul and harmony korine.  after school he mostly toured with his band, o’death, but always wanted to make movies, and is always thinking about movies.  he worked at film forum for five years (mostly sweeping up popcorn for manhattan celebrities) before moving to maine in 2010 and opened up the oak and the ax with his now ex. there they screened movies like holy mountain, out of the blue, and american astronaut to raptured biddeford attendees.  after closing the oak and the ax in 2014, he started working at space gallery and recently curated the trail off series in the space gallery annex.  like everyone he is fond of breakfast food and pizza, but is not drinking as much beer as he used to.
